Building Entrepreneurial Communities
The theme of the 2010 VBIA Annual Conference is “Building Entrepreneurial Communities”. VBIA will raise the level of discussion beyond “how can we help entrepreneurs” and discuss the much broader and more inspiring question – “how can we build entrepreneurial communities?” Join us as we investigate this economic development strategy and learn how your community can benefit.
Small entrepreneurial companies have been important drivers for growth in our country. They have been change agents in the economy and the society, forcing the country to new productivity levels and radically transforming whole industries. According to the Small Business Administration an estimated 44 percent of all new jobs in the US are created by startup companies that often begin with only a few employees and grow into large successful firms.
